I’m a keen surfer and love going in the sea. But we should not have to fear for our health every time we go in.
Even with all the media attention and campaigns against the water companies, reports say that sewage spills into the sea have doubled this year.
We need to hold the companies to account. Stop any shareholders dividends until our waters run clean. The only way to do this is to have the data to prove what they are doing.
Which makes me so frustrated when the current Havant Borough Conservatives all 29 voted of them voted against continued testing of our water. What could possibly be the reason for this? They have to tow the line of the national party. The Greens are free to think for themselves.
I personally vow to do all I can to protect our seas and rivers and hold the water companies to account when I get voted in on the 2nd of May this year.
